Fifth Circuit Court makes decision on Executive Action

Today we have learned that the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled against President Obama’s plan to shield up to 5 million people from deportation using his authority known as “executive action”.

This ruling is not unexpected given the conservative composition of this particular federal court. I expect that the President will appeal this decision further to the United States Supreme Court and hope that he will do that in time for the Court to take up this matter this term with a decision coming in the late spring of 2016.
